Froch Keen on Ward Showdown

The talk of Carl Froch getting back into the ring with Andre Ward continues to gather momentum.

With Ward sitting ringside to witness Froch exacting revenge on Kessler for the defeat in Denmark, talk of a unification fight and avenging his defeat to Ward is something a the forefront of Froch’s thoughts.

Already, Ward has hinted that if the money is right he’d be prepared to come to the UK to take Froch on, possibly at Wembley Stadium and it is a suggestion that Froch has picked up on with Nottingham fighter commenting to the media,

“He mentioned Wembley.”

“Or what about back at the O2 Arena? What a fantastic venue that was on Saturday night, or Wembley – that would be unbelievable.”

“To be given the chance to set the record straight and finish my boxing career with a clean sheet by avenging my only two defeats, that would be something to look forward to.”

However, it appears that Froch has a distinct reluctance to go back to the USA to fight Ward, adding,

“He’s living in cloud cuckoo land if he thinks I’m going to fight him in America.”

Personally, reading between the lines, I have to ask could a Ward showdown be Froch’s final hurrah, when he talks about finishing his career with a clean sheet!
