'If It's Boxing, It's Vital'

Looking Ahead

As the summer (who am I kidding) starts to get into full swing, we’d like to give you a reminder of some of the key action coming our way in the coming weeks.

This Saturday night, 29th June, over in the USA, Mashantucket to be precise, there is WBA middleweight world title action when Matthew Macklin takes on Gennady Golovkin. Macklin, entering the contest as the under-dog, will be hoping to realize his ambition of becoming a world champion and we wish him luck in his quest.

A week later, July 6th, this time on home shores, Liverpool to be precise, the British heavyweight David Price seeks t get his career back on track when he takes on the American heavyweight Tony Thompson. Price will be seeking revenge for the defeat inflicted on him, last time out, by Thompson and knows that it’ll be a long road back to title contention, at any level, if he doesn’t gain revenge for the stoppage inflicted by Thompson last time out.

Continuing, over in Brooklyn New York, on July 13th, we get another chance to see the legend that is Bernard Hopkins as the veteran fighter defends his IBF light-heavyweight crown against Karo Murat. Just how many more fights The Executioner has left in him remains to be seen as he continues to defy Father Time and the critics.

Three totally different fights on the horizon but, we hope, three crackers to look forward to!
