Brook’s Chance to Shine

This Saturday, there is an enticing encounter for those who follow the sport governed by the Queensbury Rules.

Our very own Kel Brook will be trying to push on towards a world title clash when he takes on, for the second time, Carson Jones

Brook, who missed out on two world-title clashes with Devon Alexander through injury, knows he needs to put on a decent display to ensure his name is prevalent when potential world-title clashes are made.

The last time out, against Jones, Brook took a majority 12 round points verdict, however many pundits thought the fight could have been declared a draw or even given to Jones.

The first fight saw Brook display a range of silky skills in the first six rounds to open up a points lead, but the Sheffield fighter faded and had to survive a torrid six round onslaught from Carson in the second half of the fight.

Brook enters the fight with a record of 29 wins and 0 defeat with 19 of those wins coming by way of knockout, whereas Jones will arrive at the Hull venue with his record reading 35 wins, 9 defeats and 3 draws / no contests. Of those 35 wins, 25 have come by way of knockout.

It promises to be an intriguing, possibly brutal contest, but this time around Brook will need to make sure that the display he put on for the first six rounds last time can be stretched to the latter rounds otherwise the American fighter, with a plethora of experience behind him, could put a huge dent in Brook’s world title aspirations.

Now this will be the fight of the night on Saturday, Brook could be troubled again but he should have just enough to win on points
