Price Chooses Booth

After taking a bold gamble, a gamble that failed, when David Price was knocked out in consecutive fights by the ageing American, Tony Thompson, we feared for Price’s future.

The second defeat meant that it would be a long way for the Liverpool fighter and matters were compounded when Price decided to part company with his long term trainer Franny Smith, back in August of this year.

Since then we’ve been pondering over who Price would turn to, too train him, as he edges back toward a comeback fight that really will be pivotal in his career.

Well today (Monday) we’ve been put out of our misery with it being announced that Price will be trained by Adam Booth from now on.

Booth, as we all know, took David Haye to a heavyweight title and is currently helping David Haye plot the downfall of Tyson Fury.

It’s an interesting decision by Price who will, we assume, now relocate to London ahead of his fights.

The move, we imagine, also rules out any chances of a Haye v Price match-up, although we’d imagine that the Hayemaker is, currently, aiming a little higher than that.

time will tell if he still has that heart to carry on after the thompson losses. of course there is the possibility that he just picked the wrong fighter, who had the style and of course punch to beat him. booth will be an interesting change, as he will, I assume look at making Price more flexible and with better defensive qualities
