Hearn’s Dilemma

Having seen his man, Carl Froch demolish George Groves, at Wembley Stadium, in May, Eddie Hearn has a dilemma to solve.

Following his stunning knockout victory over Groves, it appeared that Froch was intent on pursuing his dream of topping the bill over in America, possibly in Las Vegas, against an opponent such as the Mexican Julio Cesar Chavez.

However, another fight on the Wembley promotion saw James DeGale earn himself mandatory challenger status for Froch’s IBF title when DeGale swept aside the American fighter Brandon Gonzales.

Naturally Hearn would like to see Froch fight in the USA but there’s also the prospect of another domestic tear-up, this time between Froch and DeGale to consider, a tear-up that could be a huge money spinner for all concerned.

Speaking about the situation, Hearn had this to say to the media,

“In an ideal world I’d put DeGale and Froch in a ring together.”

“Domestic fights work. DeGale is a ready-made domestic challenger for Froch and the mandatory challenger for his IBF title.”

“Carl’s got aspirations to go to Vegas, but that’s easier said than done. If that can’t happen he’s got to look at his options. His options are James DeGale or Mikkel Kessler.”

So what will it be?

Who is your money on as being the next opponent for Froch?

Will it be Julio Cesar Chavez, Mikkel Kessler or another domestic tear-up this time with James DeGale?
