'If It's Boxing, It's Vital'

Joshua makes it 10 out of 10

After blasting out his previous nine opponents in spectacular style, Michael Sprott was expected to give Anthony Joshua a real test.

However, that didn’t prove to be the case with our young heavyweight hope showing that no matter who is put in front of him he’ll do the business.

In his 10th professional fight, the 2012 Olympics gold medal winner took a mere 86 seconds to beat the experienced Sprott.

Sprott looked willing enough as the opening bell sounded but a solid right had him retreating, a series of blows has Sprott trapped on the ropes and with Joshua unloading left-right combinations without any reply, it came as no surprise when the referee stepped in to stop the fight.

It would appear that now is the time for Joshua to be stepped up in class and when pressed on that very subject his promoter, Eddie Hearn, had this to say,

“He's had nine fights, but when he backs you onto the ropes, he's ruthless. We'll take on Kevin Johnson in January and he will be ready to face anyone in the country next summer.”

And as for the fighter himself, the confident and very likeable Joshua remarked to the media,

“I'm glad to get the year out of the way, it's been a busy one.

“He wanted to carry on and so did I. I love this city, these fans are amazing.

“Kevin Johnson is durable and he's got a lot of experience, and quite a lot of mouth, so it should be a fun one.”

So it’s onwards and upwards for Anthony Joshua and at the moment the sky really does appear to be the limit for this exciting fighter.
