Tyson Fury Talks the Talk!

With one great show over, we now await the next one.

Thankfully, after the wonderful night provided by Eddie Hearn and his team at the Liverpool Echo Arena we only have a week to go before the action switches to the O2 Arena in London and a huge show being put on by Frank Warren.

Top of the bill next Saturday is the intriguing heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora, it’s a fight that has the potential to be a heavyweight classic with the winner being lined up for a crack at a version of the world title.

With a mere week to go before the action starts we’re expecting the verbals to fly between the two heavyweights as they wait to go head-to-head in the ring.

Unsurprisingly, it hasn’t taken Fury long to get the verbal sparring underway with the 26 year-old not being afraid to champion himself with what some might feel are outrageous statements.

Speaking to the media, this is what Fury had to say about himself as the fight draws nearer,

'The beard is to show what type of animal I am at the moment.”

'I've let this beard grow for three months, the same length of time I've been in my training camp.”

'When Dereck gets in the ring on November 29, he won't be in there with any mediocre heavyweight, he will be in there with a wild animal.”

'And a wild animal that isn't going to be tamed by any six-footer. It's going to take a herd of wild horses to tame this wild animal, because I'm coming ferociously and he's getting knocked out for sure.”

'He's over-trained and is weak. When I hit him with a body shot it will break his ribs.”

'Don't blink in this fight because that's how long it could last. I'm ready to punch a hole in a wall, let alone Dereck Chisora's face.”

'He'll go to sleep between rounds five and seven. It's either he's going to go or I'm going to go.”

'People don't talk like me and back it up because I'm that good and I haven't got a lump of wood between my ears like most heavyweights have.'

Intriguing stuff, but the sorts of which we’ve come to expect from Tyson, but it gets better with Fury further remarking,

'In years to come they will be speaking my name alongside Achilles, Hector and Alexander the Great.”

'Chisora's name will be forgotten in five years. In 100 years they will still be talking about Tyson Fury, the greatest heavyweight from Great Britain.”

'Special talents like me come round once every 500 years. Special, special talents. I'm like a top race horse. I will go down in history like Red Rum.”

'I do believe Dereck is the third best heavyweight on the planet, behind Klitschko and behind me. He'll be able to tell his grandchildren he shared a ring with the great Tyson Fury.'

I guess you, like me, are stumped for words!

What a character the man is.
