Frampton Will KO Rigondeaux

The world appears to be Carl Frampton’s oyster at the moment.

After blowing away his mandatory challenger, Chris Avalos, on Saturday night in sensational style, several names are being put forward as Frampton’s next opponent.

Three names are currently being bandied about, those of Scott Quigg, Leo Sana Cruz and the fighter many consider be the best in the division, currently, Guillermo Rigondeaux.

But whilst his mentor Barry McGuigan is intimating that Frampton will beat all three it seems the Cuban is being left until last with McGuigan remarking about the talented Frampton,

“I’ve always said that he’s the hardest puncher at super-bantamweight in the world.

“There isn’t a harder puncher. Everybody is screaming about Guillermo Rigondeaux but look at what happened the last time he fought a Japanese guy [Hisashi Amagasa], a big stringy kid who couldn’t really hit, and he was dropped twice and badly hurt.

“When Frampton hits him, he’s going to knock him out — but we’ll hit him when I want him to hit him. It’s not an exciting fight at the minute, it’s not something that attracts us. Quigg does, Santa Cruz does.

“This guy is the best super-bantamweight in the world and we’re going to prove it.”

We’re not arguing Barry, we’re just jumping on board to enjoy what will be a great journey.
