Klitschko Ready for Jennings Challenge

This Saturday, at the famed Madison Square Garden, in New York, Wladimir Klitschko will be looking to see off the challenge of Bryant Jennings as he defends his array of heavyweight titles.

For Klitschko to fight outside of his adopted Germany is rare but for the Ukrainian to risk his titles in a country where Deontay Wilder has re-ignited US interest in the heavyweight scene is a shrewd move.

For Klitschko it is an opportunity to show the US public that whilst Wilder might be the up and coming all-American hero the daddy of the division is the 39-year-old who will be making his 18th defence of his heavyweight titles which include the IBF / IBO / WBA / WBO versions.

His opponent in New York is another American, just like Wilder, who believes he can make a huge impact on the heavyweight scene, Bryant Jennings.

Jennings has taken this fight after amassing a record that reads 19-0 with 10 wins coming by way of knockout. The challenger knows he is in for a tough night, you don’t hold a version of the heavyweight title, for almost ten years if there’s not something special about you.

But, by venturing away from his adopted normal fighting stage, is Klitschko indicating that, as he approaches the twilight of his career, is he set to fight in other countries which would go down exceedingly well when you consider that our own Tyson Fury is a mandatory challenger for a version of the title and Anthony Joshua is also some way down the line.
