Is Wilder v Joshua On The Cards?

Could a clash of two unbeaten heavyweights be on the cards?

On December 12th Anthony Joshua has the chance to extend his unbeaten record to 15-0 when he takes on his old foe Dillian Whyte.

Itís a clash that the whole of Britain is waiting for, can the #2 WBC contender defeat an opponent who defeated him as an amateur.

If Joshua wins then his potential to become the mandatory challenger for the current WBC champion, Deontay Wilder, improves and Wilder, with a record that reads 35-0 with 34 wins by way of the big knockout, has promised to honour his commitment to fight mandatory challengers, remarking about fighting Joshua,

ďMost definitely. Any fighter that has excitement behind him, that the fans love, thatís who I want. Heís moving up in the rankings. They have their plans for him, and Iím the champion now. We have our plans. Any man thatís climbing the heavyweight ladder and they become the mandatory, theyíll have to go through me. Iím going to be around for a long, long time, and thatís a promise. Every time Iíve made a promise, Iíve kept it.

ďThatís definitely a fight that Iím looking forward to when the time comes.

ďIím sure the fans will be looking forward to it as well. Iím looking for all comers. Everybody must go through Deontay Wilder. January may be a date for me for sure. Weíre looking to get an opponent. Iím looking to go against some of my rival opponents. Iím also looking forward to my first mandatory bout as well. People are going to be very pleased about it. I said I was going to be an action champion, and Iím looking forward to get back in the ring now.Ē

Could Joshua be pitched with Wilder in the next twelve months or so or is that too soon for the Watford fighter?
