Haskins Looking Forward to Caballero Bout

In roughly a months’ time, the Bristol fighter Lee Haskins will realise a dream.

Haskins will travel to the US to take on the IBF bantamweight world champion Randy Caballero.

The fight will take place in Las Vegas on November 21st.

At 32-years of age, Haskins faces a difficult task but the experience gained in picking up the interim belt, in June, when he stopped the Japanese fighter Rysuke Iwasa will be of enormous assistance.

There’s also the small fact that Caballero hasn’t boxed since October 2014 could play into his hands.

Talking about the fight ahead, Haskins has remarked,

'It's a magical place for boxing and it's a place where every boxer wants to fight at least once.

'I've got an opportunity to fight over there which is something I will have for the rest of my life and something I can share with my grandkids.

'The amount of training to do is very daunting to me and I still have got a lot of work to do before I see light at the end of the tunnel.

'Just to stand there and win a world title will be worth it. Those belts are what dreams are made of and something I've always wanted, now the opportunity is here in front of me.

Fine sentiments from Haskins who will enter this contest with a record that reads 32-3 whilst Callabero has a record of 22-0, Caballero beat Stuart Hall in his last fight to claim the crown.

Talking further about the fight, Haskins further added,

'I know how he boxes, he is a tough guy, young and to be a world champion at his age he must be talented.

'We know it's going to be a tough fight and I'm going to have to produce my best on the night.

'This will be my toughest fight and I'm prepared to walk through the fiery depths of hell for this fight.'

That might, I’m afraid, be what’s needed as 25-year-old Caballero is one talented fighter.
