Hughie Fury Takes His Record to 19-0

One of the clutch of promising British heavyweights was in action, in Bristol, last night.

Hughie Fury, cousin of the world title chasing Tyson, was matched against the journeyman fighter Emilio Ezequiel Zarate, at the Bristol City Academy.

As expected Hughie Fury got the win, taking his professional record to 17-0 with 9 of those wins coming by way of knockout.

The end came as early as the second round when Hughie caught his opponent with a right to the side of the head that saw Zarate fall face down on the canvas. Zarate looked to be in some pain, clutching the side of his head.

The fight was halted by the referee, Marcus McDonnell, with one minute and five seconds of the round gone with Zarate showing no intention of getting up and complaining that the punch had caught him on the ear.

With 19 wins under his belt, Hughie Fury will be hoping for win #20 to come when he fights on the undercard of the huge promotion, in Dusseldorf, which features his cousin Tyson trying to wrestle the world title off of Wadimir Klitschko.

But, the time is fast coming when Hughie needs to be put in with far tougher opposition.
