Haye Not Worrying About Tyson

The festive period is always a quiet period in our sport, a kind of a similar status to that of football during the close season.

But, with 2016 drawing closer, there are some good fights to look forward to and one such fight will witness the return to the ring of David Haye.

Haye, after three and a half years out of the ring, will be hoping that he has lost none of the skills that saw him become the heavyweight champion of the world.

However, since Haye last fought, a certain Tyson Fury has sprung to prominence beating Waldimir Klitschko, a fighter Haye lost to after complaining he fought him suffering from a broken toe.

But, with Haye looking to gate-crash the world title scene, it looks as if his path and that being trod by Tyson Fury are going in different directions.

After two fights between the pair fell through, due to Haye picking up a cut and a shoulder injury, Fury vowed he’d not waste any more time in his career waiting around for Haye to actually step into the ring with him.

Talking about his old adversary and someone who is now the IBO / WBA and WBO champion of the world, Haye has remarked,

“He said the one person he’s never going to fight is me and he’ll throw his titles in the bin rather than fight me.

“He’s definitely a name that I’m not worrying about.”

Which is a shame really as, having beaten the long reigning Wladimir Klitschko, Tyson Fury should be acknowledged as the true champion of the world.
