Price Wins by Second Round Knockout

On the Goodison Park under-card, on the night Tony Bellew seized the WBC cruiserweight title in emphatic style, the Liverpool heavyweight David Price made his ring return.

Price, very much the forgotten man of British heavyweight boxing, was looking to get his career back on track after being knocked out by Erkan Teper in a European title fight last year.

For his comeback fight Price was matched against the Czech fighter Vaclev Pejsar who, on paper, looked to have a decent record.

However, Price soon showed that he was a different class to Pejsar catching him with an uppercut that saw the Czech boxer hit the canvas.

The second-round saw Price repeat the act and this time the upper-cut that Price caught Pejsar with was enough to see the fight end.

Price is now in a position whereby he has three defeats on his record, the one to Teper and two previous knockouts at the hands of the US fighter Tony Thompson, however, both fighters have since failed drugs tests.

For this fight Price came in at his heaviest ever, nineteen stone, could the extra weight on his frame help overcome what many perceive as a weak chin.

It remains to be seen who Price fights next.
