Chisora Talks Whyte

The promotion at the Manchester Arena, on 10th December, features a heavyweight clash that could prove to be the fight of the night.

Whilst Anthony Joshua might be defending, for the second time, his IBF heavyweight crown against Eric Molina, the WBA eliminator between two British heavyweights, Dereck Chisora and Dillian Whyte is a mouth-watering prospect.

Both fights are ebullient, colourful characters but both have dark sides to them that suggest a tear-up outside of the ring will never be far away.

Yesterday that point was somewhat proven when the duo met up ahead of recording a head-to-head interview for Sky Sports.

The tension surrounding the two fighters always suggested that something untoward would happen and as it turned out the two fighters had to be lead away from each other before a public brawl resulted.

Talking to the press, Chisora, who clearly must be in the last-chance saloon as far as his career goes, made an unusual analogy when he compared himself to a medical condition, with Dereck remarking,

'I've lost six fights, people write me off but you can't write me off.

'I'm like herpes - one minute I'm gone, then one minute I pop back up.

'It's like you have to see the doctor and get a pill but then suddenly I pop back up.'

Each to their own I suppose.

Continuing, Chisora, who has won 26 of his 32 fights and is far more experienced than Dillian Whyte, added about his opponent on December 10th,

'All I see is Dillian on the canvas. There's nothing much I'm scared of, he doesn't bring much to the table. He's got a good selection of punches but he hasn't got a power punch so I'm looking forward to the fight.'

I’m sure Dillian won’t be slow in coming forward and offering a reply to the above as we await what should be a very interesting WBC title eliminator.
