Wembley Scares Joshua

December 10th is fast approaching.

At the Manchester Arena Britain’s IBF world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, will be making his second defence of his belt.

In the opposing corner will be the American fighter Eric Molina.

Although nothing is ever certain in heavyweight boxing, most pundits expect it to be an easy nights work for the Watford fighter.

But it is what lies over the horizon that many boxing fans are eagerly waiting for, a huge clash with the former long-time heavyweight champion, the Ukrainian, Wladimir Klitschko.

The fight is expected to be a unification fight and there’s every chance that it will be held in the marvellous arena that is Wembley Stadium, in front of a crowd of some 80,000.

Talking about the prospect to the media, Anthony Joshua has admitted that the possibility of fighting at Wembley is a little daunting, with the boxer remarking,

“The thought of it leaves me speechless.

“It’s amazing. I’ve boxed in front of 100 people and now we’re talking about 80,000. It’s a massive jump. It’s historic.”

However, there is still the hurdle that Eric Molina will present to overcome, but Joshua is perfectly aware of the threat the 34-year-old American will present, further adding,

“He’ll swing power punches from the hills and hope one lands while he’s got enough energy.”

Let’s hope that Joshua is wary enough to avoid any bombs from Molina and land his own knockout blows.
