'If It's Boxing, It's Vital'

Joshua Talks about Saturday Night v Molina

This afternoon, ahead of his second defence of his IBF world heavyweight title, Anthony Joshua and Eric Molina attended their last press conference before the big fight.

Naturally, the British press were concentrating on the champion and Joshua was his normal charming self.

When asked about his preparation for the fight, Joshua remarked;

'Training has gone well, hard, but well. I'm getting more experience so understand the importance of training hard,'

'I'm physically in the best shape I could be.

'Of course he has to train so I'm not worried what he is doing. I'm glad he is healthy, God willing I manage to do my job and crush him. It is a breaking down job, everyone is sharp in rounds one, two three, but it is about being clever. Later on in the rounds I will start breaking him down.

'We are bringing currency back to heavyweight boxing, and respect back to the division and everyone wants a piece of it. Training is not about preparing for Eric, it is only going to get tougher so we train as if we are preparing for five fights' time. I will make him look like a novice.'

However, continuing, Joshua also highlighted the plight that affects those British sportsman who are at the top of their profession when he added,

'For as many people that want me to win, there are as many people that want me to fail.

'I still have to be very careful and perform to the best of my ability.”

And on his opponent, he further added,

'He has a one-punch return which he thinks is going to shock the world. It is time to cement my legacy and fight by fight I am going to write my name in the record books. I'm going to make him look like a kid, I'm going to play with him and feed him to the lions.'

All confident stuff, let’s hope that Eric Molina doesn’t spoil the night.
