Wilder Plans to Clean Up the Division in 2017

The heavyweight division is alive at the moment with three world title holders that are very marketable.

Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker all hold various versions of the belt and 2017 could see the trio involved in unification bouts.

Across the pond, Deontay Wilder is getting ready to face the unbeaten challenger, George Washington, as the knockout specialist looks to defend his WBC belt.

However, whilst not dismissing the challenge Washington will present, Wilder has his eyes on those big unification fights.

If Wilder defeats Washington, hes already talking about a showdown with Parker, who he expects to bear Hughie Fury in his first defence of his WBO belt.

The WBC champ has even announced hed have no problem flying to New Zealand to take on Parker, believing the judges wont be needed as hed knock Parker out.

Talking about his plans, Wilder has remarked to the media,

This is how I want things to go and this is what my team has in mind as well 2017 is all about unifications.

Im not looking past Gerald Washington. But I look through it. Im window shopping. After Gerald Washington, were going after the winner of Hughie Fury and Joseph Parker, which Im predicting Joseph Parker to win. So, Im going after Joseph Parker for the WBO title.

If that plan comes to fruition, Wilder then fancies facing our very own Anthony Joshua, as long as the IBF champ comes through the challenge presented by Wladimir Klitschko, with Wilder further remarking,

Two belts-two belts, unify the division.

And thats it. I want belts.

Ambitious plans for an ambitious heavyweight champion for 2017.
